REVILUTION : The interview.

01/05/2019

Today we are interviewing REVILUTION, a reputed band from South California. They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for this Rock & Roll Band. Composed of a group of inspirational musicians and skillful performers, the artists behind REVILUTION have earned their reputation as a talented band to look out for. From live gigs to studio sessions and more, they continue to touch fans around the world with their distinct and enjoyable musical style.

1. If you weren't musicians what would you all be doing?

  • Dan Seitz, vocals, guitar: Probably restoring vintage cars, or an electrician.
  • Scott Flint, guitar, vocals: I'm a trained chef, so I would most likely be cooking.
  • Marie: If I wasn't a musician, I'd be a writer or photographer.

2. What do you feel has been your best release so far?

  • Marie: I feel our best release so far is our latest EP release.
  • Scott: Without a doubt, "Bastard."

3. What is the strangest question you guys have ever been asked in an interview?

  • Scott: This question you're asking now. (Laughing)
  • Marie: So far all interview questions have been relevant and on point, so there are no strange questions to talk about. We did have an Oreo cookie incident in Colorado that was pretty hilarious. I was watching the monitor of the view upstairs at the studio and Mikey scurried away with a Ziplock bag of Oreos like a troll. It was perfectly timed so thinking back on that memory is, I guess, a little odd.
  • Dan: Something about rock and roll being dead, or dying. Like, why would I be playing it if it were dead?

4. What musicians would you most like to collaborate with?

  • Marie: For the band...we haven't talked about collaborating with anyone. I think we would sound good along with Judas Priest. Maybe do something like we jam one of their songs and they jam one of ours. That would sound tight. For me personally, I'd take the stage with Eric Nedelman`of Unpaved Highway. We could duet a song or I could do backup vocals with his band. I think Unpaved Highway would also be a good fit to perform together with REVILUTION. Their music is cerebral like ours even though it's not metal. I've sang a duet with Sebastian Bach and I'd do it again. This time, my choice of songs. He could learn the accompanying vocals with GirlStuff. It would sound epic.
  • Scott: One day I'd like to work with Scott Travis (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy). He's one cool cat!
  • Dan: Vivian Campbell, Carmine Appice, Blackie Lawless, Raine Hilai, Lita Ford, Jesse James Dupree, Ace Frehley...so freakin' many!!!

5. If you could only be remembered by one song what would it be?

  • Scott: The band hasn't recorded it yet, but I would say the song, "Bad News," which I wrote a few years ago.
  • Marie: I'll be remembered for the song "GirlStuff" at this point in my singing career.
  • Dan: If I died today it'd probably be "Bastard," but I hope I've got more in me before that happens.

6. Where can we catch a show soon?

  • Dan: Double Down Saloon on 5/18/19 should be a good one, too.
